Whonnock Lake
City Of Maple Ridge
We recently completed a full-scale renovation of the pathway systems at Whonnock Lake Centre in Maple Ridge. Our team was responsible for a paver plaza extension that serves as a new architectural focal point for the park.
Radial Entrance Detail
Before the new features can take shape, the site requires a meticulous reset. This phase focuses on the demolition and precision to ensure a stable base for the years to come.
We begin by clearing existing structures and stripping away old surfaces, followed by strategic grading to manage water runoff. By addressing the "bones" of the site first, we create the essential structural integrity needed to support the detailed stonework and amenities that follow.

Intricate Radial Patterning
The visual centerpiece of the project is defined by a sophisticated radial paver design that draws the eye inward and creates a sense of place. This specialized hardscaping requires exact geometry, with each paver carefully set to maintain the integrity of the circular motif.
The choice of materials provides a durable, high-contrast surface that transforms a functional gathering space into a deliberate work of masonry art, serving as the anchor for the entire lakeside area.
Multi-Functional Community Space
Beyond the stonework, the space is designed to breathe within its natural surroundings. The hardscaping transitions seamlessly into the garden beds and native plantings, softening the edges of the built environment.
This area is a multi-functional hub for the community and feels like a long-standing part of the Whonnock Lake ecosystem. We hope it will be enjoyed for many years to come and we are exceptionally proud of our role in bringing this project to life.
