Step-By-Step Design Process
From the first conversation to the final plan, our design process ensures your outdoor space is custom-tailored to your home, lifestyle, and budget.
Consultation_
We start with a site visit to understand your goals, style, and property features. This includes taking measurements, photos, and discussing ideas to help guide the design direction. We'll then provide you with a budget price for confirmation of the scope of work.
Design Package_
You’ll receive a detailed concept plan that will include 3D visuals, plant layouts, and recommended materials. We tailor each design to fit your space, needs, and preferences.
Revisions_
We fine-tune the design based on your feedback, making adjustments to layout, materials, or plant selection—ensuring you’re confident and excited before moving to construction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our 3D design package includes one on-site consultation, a custom 3D concept plan, and up to three design revisions. This service helps you visualize how a pergola or other features will look and fit within your space before construction begins.
The design is purely conceptual. Our goal is to stay as true to the design as possible. That said, because outdoor construction can involve weather conditions, material substitutions, or on-site adjustments, there may be slight differences in final materials, layout, or the structure. We’ll always communicate openly if any changes arise and ensure the overall vision remains intact.
Possibly. Depending on the size, scope, and location of your project—such as pergolas, retaining walls, or certain hardscape features—a building permit may be required. Permitting requirements vary by municipality and may also involve additional expenses like engineered drawings, grading plans, or approvals.
Our design package is intended as a conceptual guide only and does not include permit applications or engineered plans. We always recommend reaching out to your local municipality early in the process to confirm what’s needed.
No problem at all—our process is flexible. If you need more time to explore ideas or additional site visits, we offer continued support at $75/hour (+ taxes). We’ll always confirm any extra costs with you before proceeding, so there are no surprises.
Our design service is intended to provide value on its own—whether you’re ready to build now or in the future. While design fees are non-refundable, many of our clients find the concepts helpful as a roadmap to plan their space, gather quotes, or apply for permits on their timeline.
Depending on the size of the project and custom requests, design packages typically are ready in 3-5 business days.
